AAAAHHHH! BIG WAVE!!

Okay, so I've been telling you some good surfing tips, right? Well here's how to dodge waves. If you see a big wave, go really close to the top of your board and push it down under the water really low. This may not work the first couple of times but it will work eventually! Underwater the water is very calm. When you go under a wave it will be really calm. If your wave isn't that big, just take your arms and push yourself up. Not like surfing the wave but just stretch your arms. Push up! If you see a big wave do as shown in the picture! If you are a kid, it will be hard to push your board underneath the wave at first, but later you'll find a way!
You see these pictures? These are BARREL waves. This is what it looks like when you in it! These are very big waves and I don't recommend it for beginners.

Deep Water and Looking for the Land

This blog entry is about how you shouldn't go in way deep water. If you go in really deep water then you wont be able to get back to the shore that easily. If you go out too far and nobody can see you, then you might never get back. I don't mean to scare you or anything, but if you go out too far and nobody can see you, you could drown. So you should always make sure that the water doesn't go higher than your stomach.

The water will have a drift so remember to look for a point. If you go out and you see a hot pink umbrella, then that should be your point because its bright and noticeable. If you find out that you are too much to the left or right, get out of the water, get closer to the umbrella, and get back into the water. Do this every time you drift too far, and you'll be fine.

Boogie Boarding!

Hey, It's Malu! This blog entry is about how surfing why boogie boarding is great. Surfing and boogie boarding are great sports because it's great for your muscles and it's also super fun! Wow... That sounded really corny... Well surfing is a lot of fun so if you want to surf, you should! I think if you want to surf, you should start with boogie boarding. If you go boogie boarding, then you will learn about waves and tides. Surfing is harder because you have to stand up on your board, but if you go boogie boarding, it's almost the same thing, but you don't stand up.  So I suggest boogie boarding first.
When you boogie board, you first get on your  swimsuit and get your boogie board. When you get to the beach, first you get into the water, DON'T GO IN DEEP WATER JUST YET! Start with small waves, not like... On the beach, but up to your waist for beginners. When you see a good wave that is close enough, but not too close, get on your boogie board and kick HARD. That will build up speed, and you will go faster. Its OK if you don't get the first few waves, but eventually you'll catch on. I cant help you with balance that much, but don't go too far up or down. The middle works for me, but I can't be precise. After you catch your first wave, it will be thrilling! Congratulate your self! Woo!!! When you keep catching waves, your body will find the hotspot, and your balance will even out to be near-perfect. Sort of. Don't ride a double wave because they will tumble you.

I hope this helps!
